Actively Against Floods
The flood which caused enormous damage in the municipality, numerous landslides and hurricanes that regularly haunt the area, exposed the need for services related to the skills of handling chainsaws and activities related to the regulation of the stability of the potential landslides through forestation. As the result of themany questions from the unemployed and residents of the municipality to the scouts of the volunteer fire department in Rytro and employees of the Commune Office in Rytro, concerning the possibilities, procedures and costs of acquiring the skills in this area, a meeting was organized in the Commune Office on 29.10.2010 to which the interested residents, the scouts, the major employees of the Commune Office and the representatives of Viribus Unitis Foundation were invited. The real demand for this initiative was verified at the meeting and it was decided that 15 people will be covered by this project, according to their expectations.
The implementation of this project will improve the safety of residents of the municipality in the event of another flood hazard (talks + brochure) and it will increase the probability of finding employment outside of agriculture which will positively impact the local labor market.
The project under Measure 9.5 "Grass root educative initiatives in rural areas" is implemented in partnership with the Commune Office in Rytro in the period from 1 September 2011 to 31 December 2011. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the support of the European Social Fund Human Capital Operational Programme 2007-2013.
